Sixth Grade Chair Placements
Sixth grade chair placements will be out this week. Please help your student not to get discouraged over their placement. It is a tool that the directors use to evaluate student progress so please encourage them to do their best regardless of their chair.
Spring Fundraiser
Our final fundraiser of the year is underway. We are selling Flowers and Chocolates. Packets were distributed in class last Thursday and extras are available in the band room. This is your last opportunity to supplement your student's band account. Fundraising credits can be used towards fees and trips payments. Each student earns 75% of the profits from their sales.
Flowers: We are using the wonderful nursery, Fowler’s. The plants arrive for pick up in April. These are beautiful, full, healthy plants. There are varieties for shade and sun. The flower fundraiser runs through Thursday, February 18th.
See’s Chocolates: The company we are using for the chocolates is called See’s. This is a long established company based in California. We will have a variety of items to purchase from mixed boxed chocolates to specialty Easter products. These are delicious and good quality chocolates and will arrive in time for Easter. If you are from the West Coast, you know the See’s name. The Candy fundraiser runs through Thursday, February 11th.
Please note this important information about fees and fundraising: If you are not participating in the spring fundraiser, all unpaid band fees are now past due. If you are participating in the spring fundraiser, you may wait until after profits are posted to make final payments to your student's band account. Our treasurer will email statements once profits are posted to the student accounts. Any remaining balance is due upon receipt of your statement. Please contact the treasurer at treasurer@cariobands.org if you have any questions or concerns about your student account.
Outstanding Forms - Region & All State Students
Mr. Scott handed out outstanding band forms this week to students attending Region or All-State clinics. Please ask your child for the forms he/she received from Mr. Scott. The completed forms must be returned to Mr. Scott for your child to remain eligible to attend Region or All-State clinic. Please note the medical form is two pages and must be notarized.
