"Business Partners in Concert with the Cario Bands"
Now that the Cario Band Boosters are recognized as a 501©(3) tax exempt organization by the IRS, we can begin to approach local businesses for support of our Cario Bands Program. We are forming a "business partners" committee to develop a presentation and explore options for seeking local business support. If you own a business, work for a business, or know of a business that would consider partnering with us in our efforts to fund the growing needs of our Program, please contact us so that we can include that business in our solicitation process.

Some ideas about how this might work:
Some businesses have a "grants application and review" committee that considers donations to volunteer, non-profit organizations on behalf of employees who volunteer with that organization. For example, we recently received a check for $250 from UBS Financial Services, Inc. in recognition of band parent Kelly Ingram's participation on the Band Booster executive board. We had only to submit a letter stating our mission and verifying Kelly's volunteer status, along with a copy of our IRS exemption, and a few weeks later, the check was in the mail!
Businesses might be willing to fund a scholarship for a qualifying band student, sponsor the purchase of an instrument or piece of equipment, donate printing services for our newsletters or concert programs, provide prize packages for our "Boost the Band" campaign, underwrite the purchase of band uniforms...the list goes on, and the possibilities are inspiring!
Businesses look for opportunities to support causes such as ours, and as we continue to demonstrate our commitment to "excellence through music" through our own volunteer efforts, fundraising and otherwise, we will give the Cario Bands Program a face that our local community will come to recognize and appreciate. In return, we can then recognize and appreciate our supporters by thanking them in our literature, featuring them at our concerts, linking them from our web site, and recommending them to our band families and beyond! Becoming true partners is only a step away!
