Beginner Rehearsal!
All 6th grade students are scheduled for full beginner band rehearsal on Monday, Nov 29th from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the band room. Don't forget! (And again on Monday, Dec 6th.)
Beginner Band Uniforms
With our winter concerts rapidly approaching, just a quick reminder that all 6th grade students must be in full uniform for the performance on Thursday, Dec 9th... that would be khaki slacks, band polo shirt, black belt, black socks, black shoes. No tennis shoes! Young ladies should have hair pulled back off the face, and one pair of stud-type earrings only, please.
Symphonic Schedule
Back to normal this week...
- Monday at 7:30 a.m. for brass sectionals
- Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:15 p.m. for full symph band rehearsal
- Thursday at 7:30 a.m. for woodwind sectionals
Final Tuxedo Reminder
Final call for tuxedos for 7th & 8th grade students. Very soon, I will give Jason at Black Tie the go-ahead to return all unclaimed tuxedos to the warehouse. We just can't ask him to store our tuxedos indefinitely. If you have not been to Black Tie to pick up and pay for your student's tuxedo, please do so asap. Remember that full uniform also calls for black socks and black shoes. No tennis shoes!
All-County Hosting
We are still waiting on audition times and other needed information from the All-County committee. We do have shift assignments for everyone who has volunteered, with a few of you on hold until we receive your students' audition times. Don't know when that will be... All-County volunteers will receive a separate e-mail reminder regarding shift times and assignments. The schedule will also be posted on the website. Auditioning students will be assigned a shift that accommodates their audition times. I'll get that info out as soon as I have it. Also, student audition times will be posted on the website, with first name, last initial, and instrument so you can easily identify your student's time slot. I think that covers it until I have better info for you.
For the set up crew on Friday afternoon, Dec 3rd, please report to the band room at 3:30 p.m. Karen Bohrn, Hope Coleman, Holly Hunton, Debbie Pearson, Michelle Wittsack, Ellen Blake, Francine Dumont, Cindy Cantore, Deborah Anderson, Frick & Frack. (That's me and Nan, for those of you who don't know; we also answer to Donder & Blitzen.) Your band students are most welcome to stay and help! We should be out of there no later than 6 p.m. Hopefully earlier! See you there, and thanks so much.
Fruit Delivery
Good news for Cario band families who want to pick up their fruit order on Thursday, Dec 9th! Two of our board members, Jan Kent and Kelly Ingram, have offered to man our order box at the warehouse on Thursday evening from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. So now you all have the option of picking up your orders either Thursday or Friday, Dec 9th or 10th, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the St. George Warehouse off of Clements Ferry Road. (Don't forget our 6th grade and Jazz bands will perform on Thursday, Dec 9th at our winter concert event, which begins at 7 p.m. Call time for performing students is 6:15 p.m. in the band room.)
That'll do it for now.
A very happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Enjoy the long weekend!
Pat McM. 216-3549.
