Announcements for the Week Ending October 14, 2005
Wando Band Night for 8th Graders This Friday Night
What an exciting time for our 8th grade band students! Please plan on coming out to hear all of the local middle school bands play with the Bands of Wando at the Wando home football game, beginning at 8 p.m. at the old Wando stadium this Friday, Oct. 7th.
Coat Drive Underway
The Cario Bands Together Coat Drive is underway with the Cario Band kids donating some great items to East Cooper Community Outreach. Your generosity is truly going to help others with the upcoming colder weather!!
Please plan on having your coats, sweaters, sweatshirts and gloves turned in by Monday, Oct. 17th. Collection boxes are located in the band room for before-school drop off. During school hours, please use the collection box located in the school's main office.
Cario Bands Together for Kids Campaign Update
Students and parents, we cannot begin to thank you enough for participating in the Cario Letter campaign -- the total thus far is almost $20,000. We promised our sponsors we would send thank-you notes and tax information. Since Mr. Scott is busy teaching your students music for the upcoming Nov. 3rd concert, the booster club has decided not to take up more valuable class time with writing the notes, so we will be having thank you cards professionally printed on behalf of your student. Each and every sponsor will be receiving a thank you card as soon as the campaign winds up on Oct. 15th. Again, thank you for making this a successful campaign --- the contributions will be used entirely for the band program and your child's musical education at Cario.
BoxTops 4 Education Labels
The first deadline of the year for BoxTops 4 Education is October 31st. Please have your labels in the band room by Tuesday, Oct. 18th so that we have time to sort, count, and package by the deadline.
Gourmet Pies and Holiday Fruit Sales
These fundraisers will kick-off Friday, Oct. 21st. More information to follow next week.
Fall Concert Less Than a Month Away!
Mark your calendars for the upcoming Nov. 3rd concert to be held at the Wando Performing Arts Center, Wando High School. As soon as Stagecoach and After-Hours have contacted us with pants and tuxedo deliveries, we will notify students and parents.
Required Forms
There are still some students who haven't turned in their 6 required forms yet. Please get those filled out and turned in to the band room as soon as you can --- if you can't find the forms, they can be printed from the website. Go to the 'Forms' section and click the six links under 'Required Forms'.

- Lollipop Sale Dates Oct 13/14 --- be sure to listen for the Friday Buy One Get One Flavor
- No School Monday, Oct 24th --- Enjoy the day off!!
