Announcements for the Week Ending October 28th, 2005
Fall Concert Date Has Changed!!
Due to circumstances beyond our control at Wando, the fall concert has been moved to Tuesday, November 8th at 7 PM in the Cario gym. Call time is 6:15 PM for all 7th & 8th graders. The 6th graders are concentrating on their scales, tone quality, & Christmas music for the December concert and will not be performing on November 8th. This is a great opportunity for concert credit, however, so don't miss out! More details in next week's announcements....
Volunteers are needed for concert setup (4), breakdown (4), and recording the concert (1). If you can help out, contact Joanna Hoover at hospitality@cariobands.org. Thanks!
Fall Fundraisers Kick Off
Packets for the holiday pie and seasonal fruit fundraisers will be coming home with your student this Friday, October 21st. These tried-and-true fundraisers are familiar to lots of people in our area so they are easy sells! Not only do they help the operating budget of the band program but 65% of the profits raised by each student go to their band account. Proceeds can be used towards band fees and spring trip expenses. So help out the band AND your pocketbook and let's make this a great fundraiser!
Pie sales end Wednesday, November 2nd with pies delivered on Friday, November 18th, just in time for Thanksgiving! Fruit sales end Friday, November 18th with delivery on Saturday, December 10th.
Volunteer Thanks
A big thank you goes out to all the volunteers that showed up on short notice this past Wednesday to help stuff the fall fundraiser packets. You guys are the best!
Percussion Ensemble Rehearsal Change
Percussion ensemble rehearsal is moved to Wednesday, October 26th this week due to the teacher workday (translates in student speak to NO SCHOOL!!!) on Monday, October 24th.
Coat Drive a Success!
Thanks to all students and parents that participated in our first community service project for the Cario Bands Together for Kids campaign. The nip in the air last weekend really got everybody checking out coats for the coming cool weather and the boxes were overflowing Friday and Monday! The goodies have been delivered to East Cooper Community Outreach and will help many, many children in our local community. Thanks for your hard work!
Thank You Notes
Thank you notes for all contributors to the Cario Bands Together for Kids campaign will be going out over the next two weeks from the Cario Band Boosters. You will also receive a list of contributors for your student shortly so that they can send a personal note, email, or phone call if you wish. I'll give you a heads-up when those are sent home so you can be on the lookout for them!
Required Forms
There are still a few students that we haven't received forms from yet so if you haven't sent them in, please try to get them to us in the next week. Thanks!
