PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION AS IT IS EXTREMLY IMPORTANT

ANY STUDENT WHO HAS NOT PAID ALL OF HIS OR HER BAND FEES FOR THIS YEAR, WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE BUS FOR THE FLORIDA TRIP. PLEASE NOTE THAT EVEN IF ALL OF THE FLORIDA TRIP FEES HAVE BEEN PAID, HE OR SHE IS STILL INELIGIBLE TO ATTEND UNTIL THEIR INITIAL BAND FEE HAS BEEN PAID IN FULL. THIS WILL BE ENFORCED WITHOUT EXCEPTION. Please refer to the Band Handbook on page 4, under "Additional Band Member Expectations".

**  We will be having a parent meeting on Tuesday March 10, 2009. More information on the parent meeting to follow.

CAROWINDS
Mr. Scott is taking 96 students to the 33rd Annual Carowinds Festival of Music May 29.  Be aware that, because this is a competition event and a reward for hard work, all students who have signed up must meet Mr. Scott's qualification criteria. This trip is full. We have started a waiting list in case a student needs to drop out.

**Thank you to all those great band parents that volunteered to chaperone our Florida and Carowinds trips. To date, we have filled all of our chaperone positions. If you were selected, you should already have received notification and information from the trip coordinator. Please note, if you have volunteered, we are keeping you name on a standby list in case one of our chaperones must cancel. Thank you again for offering your time.

Upcoming Symphonic Schedule and Info

Concert Festival

The concert festival for our symphonic band will be on March 25th. Concert Festival is an adjudicated contest to evaluate our performance as a musical ensemble. Details to follow.

Wando Marching Band

For those students who will be moving on to the Wando Marching Band this summer, The Wando band has posted the summer rehearsal schedule on their band web site for help in planning summer vacations. It is extremely important to attend all of the listed rehearsals, so please try to schedule vacations around them. The following link should take you to their web site where the schedule is located on the first page "Summer 2009 and Fall 2009 Calendar". www.Wandobands.org

Practice Charts

Practice charts continue to be due each week. These are a part of your child's band grade! If your child is not practicing as they should, please encourage them to in order to earn a better grade in the class. But more importantly, to stay on track in band class so that our band can continue to be the best middle school band in the state....leading up to the best high school band in the state. If your child is practicing, it is important to follow through by signing and turning in the practice charts.

To all of the wonderful band parent volunteers, Thank you, thank you, your time and hard work is valued and appreciated.

Thank You and Have a Great Week!!!
