Announcements For May 19, 2010

Florida Trip

The itinerary has been revised. Parents of students attending the trip should have received an email from Mary Dinda with the new itinerary attached. Please print the itinerary and help your student pack accordingly. Everything they will need for the first day of the trip needs to be in their carry-on. We will not be checking into the hotel until the late evening on Thursday.

Jazz Band Performances

Our Jazz Band has a busy schedule next week. Students should wear their blue Jazz Band polos and khaki shorts on performance days.

Lowcountry Junior Idol Contest

Lowcountry Parent magazine is hosting a Lowcountry Junior Idol contest on May 29th at Tanger Outlets. The deadline for registration is this Friday, May 21st. Registration forms can be downloaded from www.lowcountryparent.com. I know we have some very talented students out there!

Beach Bash 2010!

Our annual end of school Beach Bash is coming up! Come enjoy fun, games and food from Moe's Southwestern Grill. Students and family members are all welcome. The Beach Bash reservation form is available online or in the band room on the file cabinets by the door. Forms can be turned in to the collection bin at school.

Band Fees Due

All unpaid band fees have been turned over to the school bookkeeper. Payments should still be made to Cario Band Boosters and we will notify the school bookkeeper of payments made. As your student has been an active participant in the band program throughout the year, please be sure to send in your remaining payment so we may continue the excellent band program we are fortunate to have at Cario. Contact Jill McKay at treasurer@cariobands.org if you have any questions. Fees may be deposited in the lockbox in Mr. Scott's office or mailed to Cario Band Boosters, 1121-B Park West Blvd., Box 224, Mount Pleasant, SC 29466. Thank you for payments already made.

School Owned Rental Instruments

ALL SCHOOL OWNED instruments MUST be returned on Thursday, May 27.  An inventory of our school property must be done before students may rent instruments for the summer. This includes instruments kept for home use, i.e. tubas, etc. Instruments must be clean and in the same good working order as when they were received. Any student who would like to rent their instrument for the summer will be able to do so on June 2. An instrument rental agreement must be submitted to Mrs. DuPuis. This DOES NOT apply to students who are renting their instruments from Music and Arts.

Uniform Rental Return

7th and 8th graders who rented uniforms should bring uniforms to the band room next week.  Uniform should be freshly laundered and in a paper bag with student's name and grade clearly written on bag.  Dresses and tuxes may be washed on a gentle cycle in cold water and hung to dry. White tux shirts can be bleached and put in the dryer. We appreciate any donations of uniform items, including 6th grade items.
