Announcements For May 26, 2010
Florida Trip
The Florida Trip was a blast! We all came home tired and with sore feet but everyone had a great time. The students enjoyed the Disney workshop very much (and it was a nice break from the sun). Thanks to all the chaperones for a great job and especially our trip coordinator Mary Dinda whose hard work made the trip go so smoothly.
School Owned Rental Instruments
ALL SCHOOL OWNED instruments MUST be returned on Thursday, May 27. An inventory of our school property must be done before students may rent instruments for the summer. This includes instruments kept for home use, i.e. tubas, etc. Instruments must be clean and in the same good working order as when they were received. Instruments must be returned with a BLUE return form, available in the band room. Any student who would like to rent their instrument for the summer will be able to do so on June 2. An instrument rental agreement must be submitted to Mrs. DuPuis. If you are renting your instrument from Music & Arts or The Instrument Doc, do not return your instrument to Cario!
Beach Bash - Get your RSVP in!
Our annual end of school Beach Bash is right around the corner! Come enjoy fun, games and food from Moe's Southwestern Grill. Students and family members are all welcome. The Beach Bash reservation form is available online or in the band room on the file cabinets by the door. Remind your student to pick up a form! RSVP's can be turned in to the collection bin at school.
- Thursday, June 3rd, 2-6 p.m.
- Isle of Palms County Park
- Tickets are $5 per person
- Reservations due no later than June 1st
Uniform Rental Return
7th and 8th graders who rented uniforms should bring uniforms to the band room next week. Uniform should be freshly laundered and in a paper bag with student's name and grade clearly written on bag. Dresses and tuxes may be washed on a gentle cycle in cold water and hung to dry. White tux shirts can be bleached and put in the dryer. We appreciate any donations of uniform items, including 6th grade items.
Box Tops and Soup Labels
Don't forget to keep clipping your Box Tops and Campbell's Soup labels over the summer. Cario Bands participates in the "Box Tops for Education Program" and "Labels for Education" all year long. Campbell's soup labels can be found on lots of products - Prego, Pepperidge Farm, Swanson, V-8 and Franco American are a few. Box Tops coupons are found on loads of products, Ziploc, Hefty, Cheerios, Pillsbury and lots more. Be on the look out for these items, cut the coupon out and save them up over the summer. Then send it in with your student in the fall. There is a collection box in the band room. Every little bit helps out the band, thanks for your support!
