All-County Band
(selected students, all grades)
Students are selected for the All-County Band through an audition process. All band students are eligible to participate; however, first year band students should discuss with the band directors or their private lesson teachers whether they are ready to audition. Currently, there is no clinic or performance associated with this band.

District 4 Region Band
(selected students, all grades)
The Region Band is selected by audition from band students throughout southern South Carolina. Auditions are held in January and the clinic is scheduled for a Friday and Saturday in February. The clinic culminates in a concert on Saturday afternoon. Students selected for the band are required to attend the clinic.

Region and All-State Audition Ticket
Original Solo Books-IMPORTANT
Cario Band will have the original books containing the Junior Solos on site at Summerville High School. If a student is asked to have the original book, they should tell the judge that their director has the book on site.
Book For ALL STATE Band Auditions-IMPORTANT

South Carolina All-State Band
(selected students, all grades)
The All-State Band is a group of students selected by audition from the top one-third of each of the five region bands. This band is the highest individual honor available to a band student in South Carolina. It is a musical All-Star Team. If selected, the student is required to attend the All-State Band Clinic held at Furman University in March.

Concert Festival
(Wind Ensemble and 7th Grade Symphonic Band Members)
This event is held usually in March and is the culmination of our year's preparation. It is an adjudicated contest to evaluate our performance as a musical ensemble.

Solo and Ensemble
(selected students, all grades)
This event is a performance opportunity for individual students and small group ensembles. It is a state-sanctioned event normally held in May. Students receive awards for Excellent and Superior performances.

Florida Music Festival
(7th and 8th grade)
Cario Band travels to Florida annually to either compete in a musical festival or participate in a workshop. Eligible students have the opportunity to compete in a musical experience designed for talented middle, junior high and high school music performing groups in an educational setting.

Carowinds Music Festival
(6th grade)
The annual music festival at Carowinds in Rock Hill, SC is a reward trip for eligible students and offers a great opportunity to "break in" the beginner band to competitive band events.
