  • SmartMusic

Please complete and turn in your SmartMusic Form. We need to place an order by Tuesday, September 4th, and we don't have enough forms returned to meet our deadline. There is no additional cost to your student for a SmartMusic subscription; however, a microphone is required. We'll accept orders and payments for microphones, which can be sent into the band room with your child. CDs and microphone orders will be distributed in class. Note: We received orders for microphones without payment. Payment must be received, before we give a student the microphone.
  • Fundraising

IMPORTANT: QSP Magazine Program and Letter Writing Campaign are fundraisers for our General Fund. Student Account Fundraisers will be launched in October and January.
  • QSP Fundraiser – August 29th through September 19th

Our QSP Magazine Fundraiser is in full swing. We like this project because we don't have to sell anything! Just ask your neighbors, friends and family to RENEW their subscriptions (regardless of subscription expiration) through our fundraiser. This benefits our "customers" as subscriptions are slightly less, and we get part of the profit. A true win/win for everyone! Visiting your doctor's office? Ask them to renew their subscriptions. REMINDER: Cario Bands QSP Customer number is 2699365.
  • Letter Writing Campaign - Wednesday, September 5th and Friday, September 7th

The Students will be given a homework assignment on Wednesday, September 5th in preparation for the kick-off of our "Cario Bands Together for Kids" letter writing campaign. Please write down the names and addresses of family and friends that you would like to invite to sponsor our band program over the course of the year. Your student will be signing the letter and addressing the envelopes during band class on Friday, September 7th. Please complete the name and address information for the envelopes and the greetings for the letters. Please include any additional names and greeting on the back of this form. We will post names of our sponsors (unless they opt out) on our website sponsor page and send everyone "Thank You Notes" (donation amounts are not listed).

Note: Look for the Volunteer Request to sign-up and help the students with the campaign on Friday, September 7th.
  • Beach Sweep – Saturday, September 15th

Mark your calendars for September 15th! In memory of our former band booster president, Nan Jenkins, the band will participate in the annual Beach Sweep at Sullivan's Island on Saturday, September 15th. Jill Lofstead, our community service chair, will be checking in Cario Band volunteers at the Fort Moultrie Visitor Center (FMVC) between 8:30 and 9:00 am. We would like to get an estimated number of people who plan on participating. Please send an email to communityservice@cariobands.org to let us know if you are attending (include your student name and the number attending). Students and Families participating in the Beach Sweep will receive 3 hours of volunteer time. Our assigned area on the beach is within walking distance of the Visitor Center (section 16 – 18). Trash bags and trash forms with clipboard will be supplied for clean-up. Bring gloves, grabbers, sunscreen and bug spray. We will scour the sands until noon or until we're done (whichever comes first). We return to the FMVC to throw away trash in their dumpsters and turn in reports of what was found on the beach. We will post directions on our website in the next week. All students are encouraged to participate in this fun... yes, fun... clean-up day.
  • Student Packets – Last Call

Thank you to all the students who returned the required forms, along with all our wonderful Band Parents that volunteered to process the packets, binders and music books. Please return the Student Information Sheet with or without changes. All 7th and 8th grade students need to return a signed Statement of Responsibility Form as it was not included in the packet. Several packets were returned without this form. Student's turning in packets by Thursday, September 6th will receive an 85% for their homework assignment. You will be sent an email on September 10th if we are missing your packet.
