Directions to Fort Moultrie Visitor's Center - 1214 Middle Street on Sullivan's Island:

From Mt. Pleasant and U.S. 17, follow the signs for SC703 and Sullivan's Island (SC703 is not the IOP connector. Coleman Blvd. becomes SC703 at the Royal Ace Hardware intersection.) Outside Concert Attendance Requirement

The Cario Band Program requires each student to attend 2 outside concerts each semester; 3 each semester if you are working towards the 6th grade Honor Medal or the 7th and 8th Grade Honor Band. The purpose of the attendance requirement is to allow students to gauge their level of play and appreciate the talents of others. It also serves to expose students to wind ensembles where professional musicians play the student's chosen instrument. Check out the website and our calendar for Concert Opportunities. Know of an upcoming concert opportunity? Send an email to president@cariobands.org.

  • To receive credit, students must complete the Concert Evaluation Form and attach a concert program.
  • What counts: performances which include the student's chosen instrument; wind ensembles; one marching band performance.
  • What doesn't count: concerts in which the student plays; choral and orchestra concerts.
  • Due dates for the evaluation forms are January 10, 2013 for the first semester and May 9, 2013 for the second semester.

Box Tops and Labels for Education

Cario Bands and PTSO are teaming together on a school wide Box Top Campaign! Please remember that Band Students drop off their Box Tops in the Band Room, so we get credit for the Box Tops. Make sure you put your Student Name, Homeroom teacher and POD/Team. Our Box Top chairs will provide Band students' Box Tops numbers to the PTSO so they can be in the running for the School prizes and year end POD/Team prizes. Also, keep an eye out for specials that Harris Teeter and Publics run for Bonus Box Top Coupons. Our first Band Room Box Top Battle will end on Wednesday, October 17.
