Congratulations to the 7th Grade Concert Band and the Symphonic Band for receiving straight Superior ratings at the Concert Festival!!
Florida Trip:
The 7th and 8th graders who signed up for the Florida trip will be leaving bright and early this Thursday morining - April 7th. Students (with their bags and instruments) should be at the school gym at 4:00a.m. so we can check everybody in and load the buses and be ready to leave by 5:00a.m. Don't forget to bring your 3 t-shirts for the trip (the 2 new ones made for Florida and the light blue Cario t-shirt).
Carrowinds Trip:
The 6th graders will be going to Carrowinds on April 22nd. If you have received an email about turning in forms please make sure to do that if you haven't already done so. You will wear the t-shirt we have ordered for the trip that day but also make sure (as Caroline McKinney e-mailed already) to get some khaki shorts to wear as well. You must get these on your own. This is not something we order.
Instrument Testing:
Instrument testing is coming up on April 28th from 4-8. This is a chance for 5th graders to come and try out the instruments and see what is best for them. If you know any 5th graders please let them know that this event will be soon.
Honor Medals:
For those interested in the Honor Medal the final concert (when these will be handed out) is May 17th. You will need to make sure to complete all your smart music assignments for this as well as the volunteer hours and the concert attendance at least a week before this. If you need to look up the requirements again they can be found in the handbook which is on the web site. We will be having one more opprotunity for the kids to donate items in order to get the volunteer hours they need. Be on the look out for information about the Book Angels book drive.
