From the President ~ Welcome to Cario Bands 2017-2018!

Below you will see the latest update From the Band Room---we have several upcoming events so apologies for the long email. If you have questions about dates and times, please review the schedule which is posted on the website. I am also attaching a copy of it this week. Any changes will be made by the Directors and that information will be relayed to you.

From the Directors

From Mr. Scott

Hello everyone. Lessons Academy begins THIS COMING WEEK, September 5 - 6. I have worked as hard as possible to accommodate all of the conflicts. Requests for the early time, as always and advised, were quite numerous. I massaged the schedule as much as possible to help everyone out. If you have a conflict, please try to resolve it with the private teacher first, as adjusting the schedule will be quicker within the studio. The private teachers will be contacting you to introduce themselves and to confirm the schedule. I will not be at lessons Wednesday night, Mrs. Mumford is covering, as I have a family member in for surgery that day. Open blocks are the only available times for anyone still wishing to find lessons. Thank you for your patience and see you next week. Enjoy the long weekend.

From Mrs. Mumford

7th and 8th Grade Smartmusic renewal—the form that was sent by email on Friday is attached…. Please complete renewal and response assignment by September 8th…..Have a great long weekend!

Practice Charts

The first practice charts for 7th and 8th graders will be due this Friday September 8th….the first practice charts for 6th graders will be due on Friday September 16th. For our new families, you may ask your student about a practice chart and get a surprised look (that is the same that most of us received the first time). Don't worry, it will be explained in detail to all the students prior to the due date. Copies of the practice chart can be found on the website ( forms).

Letter Writing Campaign

A huge thank you to everyone for all of your assistance with our Letter Writing Campaign---and to everyone who made private donations as well!

Amazon Smile

Did you know that Cario Band is signed up with Amazon Smile? This allows a percentage of Amazon purchases to be donated to the band.

So, when you shop with Amazon, instead of using amazon.com, you use smile.amazon.com. Everything works the same… Share this link: http://smile.amazon.com/ch/57-1129663 and ask your donors, volunteers, employees, and friends to bookmark this link so all their eligible shopping will benefit Thomas Cario Middle School Band Boosters Club.
