Sorry this is a little late - We've finally reached a point in the semester where we can all exhale and catch our breath! That being said, we do have some important things on the horizon, so check out the announcements and calendar information. The Halloween concert was terrific, and thanks to everyone who helped set-up and/or tear-down equipment afterward. I believe we set a record!
Wando Band Performance, Saturday, Nov. 5, 8:00 PM
The Wando High School Band is performing a FREE preview show for the public on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 8:00 PM at the Old Wando Stadium. They just placed 2nd overall at a Bands of America Super Regional competition, and have set their sights on the National Championships coming up soon. This is a great opportunity for all students and parents to see what's in store for their kids at the next level. It's also a terrific concert opportunity (though only one marching band performance counts for a concert!). Come out and support the Cario alumni currently in the Wando Band!
Cario Band Spirit Wear!
Each year Cario Bands offers the opportunity for students to purchase black hoodies with the Cario Bands logo on the front and the option for personalization on the back (student's name and instrument). These hoodies are extremely popular amongst the students and are a way to show their pride in being part of the band. We also offer sports bags with the band logo and option for personalization with name, as well as cinch sacks, which are useful for the students to take on their spring trips to Carowinds or Florida. The order form attached must be filled out and returned with payment to the band room by November 11th. We cannot take late orders as they would not arrive in time before the holiday break. If you would like the items ordered to be a Christmas gift for your student, please note this on the order form and we can arrange delivery to you at an appropriate time. (Otherwise, orders will be distributed to your student at Cario.) Please contact our uniform chair Caroline McKinney at uniforms@cariobands.org.
Cario Jazz Band Concert - November 15, 7:00 Pm!
Please add this date to your calendars! It was omitted on the Cario Band calendar. Our Cario Jazz Band is geared up and ready for their fall concert. Call time and other information will be available soon! Make plans to attend this upbeat and exciting concert!
Pie Sale Update
The Pie Sale Fundraiser seems to be a big hit again this year! Students have earned a great deal of money toward their student accounts, and it will be posted as soon as we get all the numbers settled. IMPORTANT: Pie orders MUST be picked up on November 16.We'll send out time frames for pickup soon. IF YOU DON'T PICK UP YOUR PIE ORDERS on November 16, they will be donated to ECCO.
7th and 8th-Grade Chair Tests, December 1st after school
Chair tests for all 7th and 8th-Grade Band members will be held after school on Thursday, December 1st. Your students have signed up for a time. Please communicate with them as to when they need to arrive. The chair test should only take about 15 minutes.
6th-Grade SmartMusic Assignments
6th-grade band members have SmartMusic #42 and #48 assignments due on November 13. Please let Mrs. Mumford know if you're having any SmartMusic problems at home!
GOING MOBILE
We are in the final stages of being ready to accept online payments through Charms. Soon you will be able to pay Fair Share Fees and Travel payments online safely and securely through Charms. Please stay tuned for those announcements.
