6th Grade SmartMusic Assignments

7th & 8th Grade Honor Band Award
Those students who earned a chair (no alternates) in All-County Band and Region/All-State Band (final list will be posted on Monday, January 27), are eligible for the 7th & 8th Grade Honor Band Award. If your student is working toward this award, he/she must complete the SmartMusic portion of the Honor Medal Award (40 total). The SmartMusic assignments replace the requirement to participate in Solo Ensemble. An Information Sheet was sent home and the deadline to complete the SmartMusic is Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Late submission will not be accepted.

Florida Trip
The 2nd payment for the Florida Trip was due on Thursday, January 23rd. If you have not made this payment, please send it in as soon as possible. We need to make payments to our vendors and there are a lot of students that haven't made the 2nd payment. Please remember that the final payment for the trip is Wednesday, February 12.
Carowinds ~ 6th Grade
The Registration Form and Information Sheet can be found on our website under "For Parents and Students", Trips/Carowinds. Please make sure you read and follow the instructions for registration. We are limited to 94 students and it is first come first served. If you have any questions, please contact our trip coordinator, Caragh Caddellat tripcoordinator@cariobands.org. You must turn in the following:
- Form and $110 payment
- Completed and Notarized 2013 - 2014 Medical Form (you must provide a date for the tetanus shot
Bowling
We survived the concerts and auditions, so it's time for a little fun before "Band March Madness" arrives! This is a great time for 6th, 7th and 8th grade band students to have some fun before our competition season begins.
- Where: Sparians at River Bowl Charleston ~ 613 Johnnie Dodds Blvd
- Cost: $18 per person (includes shoe rental, 2 games, pizza & unlimited drinks, tip and tax)
Parents, band students and siblings are welcome! Note: We have the entire bowling alley reserved and 96 spots available, so don't delay sending in your reservation! Please note that this is not a drop off event. Students/children must be accompanied by an adult. Important: Adults do not have to bowl, but have fun when they do! Please return the Bowling Form along with payment (checks made out to Cario Band Boosters) by Thursday, January 30th. Lane sign-ups sheets will be available in the band room on Thursday & Friday, January 30th & 31st. Your names are preloaded into the lanes so your group can get started as soon as all your bowlers arrive at the lane.
Spirit Wear
If you would like to order a Hoodie, Sport Bag, Cinch Sack or Garment Bag before the Concert Festival or trips, please send in the Spring Spirit Wear Order Form no later than Wednesday, January 29th.
