Notes from the Directors
Honors Recital scheduled for Sunday, April 27th has been canceled. Stay tuned to a possible reschedule date.
SmartMusic Honor Pass Offs
- 6th, 7th and 8th graders who are working toward the 6th Grade Honor Medal or the 7th & 8th Grade Honor Band Award should be completing the pass offs in SmartMusic.
- Students must select the correct class and then click on the assignments to do "takes". In order to submit these assignments for credit, they must be a grade of 95 or higher and contain one red note or less. ALL assignments must be correctly submitted by Tuesday, May 6 in order to receive credit. For the full 6th Grade Honor Medal and 7th & 8th Grade Honor Band Award requirements, please refer to the band handbook on page 21 (7th/8th grade) and page 22 (6th grade).
Furman University Summer Music Camp
- Sunday, June 15 - Friday, June 20
- Registration closes - May 15 and cost is $495 for resident campers
- Students Discounts: Students seated for All-State receive a $100 discount. Students seated for Region 4 Symphonic Band (not Concert Band) receive a $50 discount.
- Students must have 2 school years of playing experience or more.
- We recommend this camp for rising 9th graders and advanced rising 8th graders.

Charleston Southern University Summer Music Camp
- Monday, June 23 - Saturday, June 28
- Registration Deadline: None, however this camp was full on the first day of camp.
- Cost $280 - $360 (day camp verses resident)
- Students must have at least 1 school year of playing experience or more.
- We recommend this camp for rising 7th and rising 8th graders.

Leonard School of Music Summer Camps (East Cooper and Symphonic)
East Cooper Band Camp
- July 28th - August 1 ~ 9 am - 1 pm
- Cost $120
- Registration is accepted up to the day camp starts. To help those administering the camp, please send in your registration by Wednesday, July 23.
- Held at Cario Middle School, hosted by Leonard School of Music.
- Students must have at least 1 school year of playing experience or more. We recommend this camp for rising 7th graders in particular, also some rising 8th graders.

Symphonic Camp
- Held at Leonard School of Music, Montague Ave, N. Charleston.
- Students must have at least 1 school year of playing experience or more.
- We recommend this camp for rising 7th graders and rising 8th graders.

- Thursday, May 1 ~ Wando Bands Jazz & Percussion Concert 7 pm PAC (come early for seating)
- Saturday, May 3 ~ Solo Ensemble. Times are posted in the band room and on our website.

Band Room Box Top Battle
Our last Box Top Battle ends on Thursday, May 14th. Please complete the Box Top Form and include this with your Box Tops. We will announce the Joey Bag of Donuts winner once we get all the Box Tops processed.

- Thursday, May 1 ~ Wando Percussion & Jazz Band Concert ~ 7 pm at the PAC (This is an extremely popular concert, so come early for a seat)
- Thursday, May 8 ~ Wando Chamber Concert ~ 6 pm in the PAC
- Thursday, May 22 ~ Cario Bands Spring Concert and Honor Award Recognition in Cario Gym at 7 pm. Call time is 6:15 pm
