From the President
There's a lot going on this week and next, so I'll dispense with the comedy and get right to business! Okay, maybe a little comedy here and there! We have major events tomorrow (Thursday), and the most important events on the program calendar next week. Read carefully!
Pre-Festival Concert Thursday Night!
Both the 7th Grade Band and Symphonic Band (8th and select 7th grade) are performing their festival pieces Thursday night at 7:00 PM in the Cario Gym. Call time is 6:15, and students must be in their concert uniform (black dresses for the ladies, black tuxedos for the gentlemen). Please come out and enjoy the fruits of your musician's labor over the last few months!
Final 7th Grade Early Morning Rehearsal
Tomorrow morning is the last 7th grade band early AM rehearsal! Yes and amen…
The Symphonic Band has one more next week though.
Concert Festival Information
The Concert Festival information was sent home with students Tuesday, and was emailed out as well. PLEASE READ carefully - there are a lot of little (but important) details that you need to know (and to make sure your musician is ready)! Most importantly, the 7th grade band performs Wednesday March 29 at 9:30 AM. The Symphonic Band performs Wednesday March 29 at 4:30 PM. Parents, family, and/or friends are welcome (and encouraged) to attend. The concerts are at the Charleston School of the Arts. If you plan to take your child home from SOA, please complete the 'Alternate Transportation Form' available in the Forms page on our website. Students will not be allowed to go home with anyone unless Mr. Scott receives this completed form by Tuesday March 28.
Concert Festival Chaperones Needed
We will need 6 chaperones for each group (3 per bus) on Wednesday March 29.
The 7th grade band loads the buses at 7:40 AM, and will return at approximately 11:00 AM.
The Symphonic Band loads at 2:00 PM, and will return at approximately 6:00 PM.
Skyzone Thank You
When the Cario Band folks show up to have some fun and blow off some steam, we go big! Thanks to everyone who came out Sunday and jumped, bounced, and dodged (or didn't dodge)! I understand it was EPIC. Way to go Mr. Bailey! Thanks to him and all the folks for making that happen Plans are already underway to make that our new and official spring fun day…bye bye bowling, we gotta bounce…
